Spotted: Billy Mays Alive & Well: Teaching at Local Middle School!

LakehillUnited.Blogspot can exclusively reveal that Billy Mays, of Oxi Clean infomercial fame, is alive and well and teaching middle school under the alias “B. Stanchfield.”

Proof – I think we can all conclude the “B” Stands for Billy!

In never before seen photos, Mays can clearly be seen on the staff photo compilation of Royal Oak Middle School in Victoria, British Columbia.  What is unclear is why Mays went into hiding in the first place.  Even more unusual is his choice to keep his signature, Randy Savage sculpted, man-beard.

Passion – Billy probably shouldn’t be teaching kids…

Mays fans will always remember Billy for his passionate way of pushing such As Seen On TV products as:
Oxi Clean
Mighty Mend-It
Mighty Putty
Big City Sliders
Awesome Auger
Handy Switch
Heeltastic
Tool Bandit
Jupiter Jack
Steam Buddy
What Odor
and Hercules Hooks

Billy Stanchfield, we here at LakehillUnited.Blogspot salute you.  Now show us your “Hercules Hook!”

Another Game, Another 3 Points: United Get First Road Victory of the Season

Battling sideways rain and heavy winds, Lakehill United managed to scoop all 3 points with a 2-1 win against Bays today in their first road game of the season.

United started the game well after warming up in hurricane like conditions.  By the time of kickoff though, the rain had abated and the sun was shining.  The wind was still strong but was at United's back which likely helped the less then 100% fitness of the starting eleven.

With just over five minutes on the clock, United struck their first of the day and who else scored but United's leading striker, Chris "I Fart to Make You Smell Better" Woodcock.  It was his fourth in two games as he cut across the top of the box and fired hard and low into the bottom corner.

Woodie - Still got it.  Trev is impressed...

It looked like the rout was on but the good early work from United stalled as the half wore on.  Bays were content hitting long balls into the United box against the strong head wind.  United were comfortable in defence with Mani "Another Year Older" Bains dropping back from midfield and winning headers constantly. Ryan "I Keep a Pop-Up in the Trunk" Braun was calm and steady at the back and had an excellent game.

Another United stand out at the back was the evergreen Dr. Brett "Doogie Howser is My Beotch" Poulis.  He made a number of critical blocks and tackles despite not knowing how to throw a ball in...hands of surgeon there, Doctor.

Despite Lakehill looking the stronger team, Bays did fashion a solid chance in the first half as one of their midfielders got behind the United defence to go one on one with Mike "We Have a Banana in Goal" Peters.  The Bays player beat Peters but not the post and United scrambled the ball clear.  United finished the half 1 goal to the good.

The second half proved a bit more difficult for United as they adjusted to the high balls being carried into them in the wind.

Despite that, United scored their second at the 60 minute mark.  A short free kick was drilled low and hard across the 6 yard box and United debutante, Andy "Crap, I'm Playing Soccer" Sails looked decidedly confused as to what to do with the freebie.  Sails did manage to keep the ball in play where it bounced around a bit before Woodcock smashed it home.  That's five in two games for the United marksmen as he leads the league in goals.

In the closing minutes, Bays managed a consolation but the scoreline flattered them a bit.  United closed down the game and saw first appearances today from Trevor "I Ate the Bowflex" Mann, Kielan "Noonan" Hrasky, Graeme "If You Ain't First, You're Last" Mann, and Sails.

United now have six points from their first two games and look forward to playing Gordon Head this Friday in another road game.

Man of the Match - Mani Bains had a great game.
Holle-Nash Award - Nash was hungover and forgot to bring one - therefore two this week.
Moan of the Match - Too much rain in warm-up.

Top Ten - Nash's Next Car: Number 6!

As a continuation of one of our popular features, we're bringing you the next car in the series Top Ten - Nash's Next Car!

To summarize, we've heard that Lakehill United and all around funny guy, Brian Nash, is in the market for a new car.  We thought it would be fun to help him decide what to purchase right here on LakehillUnited.Blogspot over the next few weeks.

So far, we've featured cars 10 through 7 in our quest to find the ultimate vehicle for Nash.  Today we bring you...

Nash's Next Car #6 - The Delorean from Back to the Future

That's right, we reckon that old Nash McFly could use with a stainless steel time machine that flies.  What better way to get Nash's body healthy and injury free then to go back in time and retrieve young and fit Nash?

Nash - Probably wouldn't waste a time machine to improve his health...

There is also the old maxim: "if I could go back to High School knowing what I know now..."  And we at LakehillUnited.Blogspot know that Nash is wise beyond his years.

This post has this writer wondering what he would do with a time machine....hmmmm....here's a list:

1. Who wouldn't gamble.
2. The Fraternity years were glorious!
3. Somehow, someway, I'd ensure I meet Rimek earlier in life...
4. 7 words: Video Footage of When I Was Fast.
5. I would be pleased to go back to the moment when Mike Peters peed on my car, wait in the bushes, and then hop out at an opportune time yelling, "This is the police!  We're trying to bust the pervert in the area who is exposing himself and peeing on Buicks!"

Stay tuned for Nash's next car as we enter the top 5!

United Win on Season Opener!

Lakehill United won their season opener at the beloved Foot last night with a 3-2 victory over visiting Nanaimo.

United started well enough with an early goal from cagey veteran, Chris "Thunder from Down Under" Woodcock.  The United hitman strode past the Nanaimo defence to calmly slot past the oncoming goalie in the 5th minute.

If nerves were a factor for United, they didn't show with good early work being done on the flanks through Matty "Pickup-the" Kones and Vinnie "Smith" Poldrugavac.  Also new United signing, Mani Bains worked well with returning United midfielder Jeff "The Other Geoff is Better Looking" Lenton in the centre of the park.

In the first half, Nanaimo didn't really press United and Woodcock soon got his second after some great build up play by the United midfield.  He beat the offside trap again to push the ball into the bottom corner.

Soon after, Woodcock would get his hat trick with a similar goal to the first two and United were cruising after 45 minutes.

We Googled Chris Woodcock for this stock photo

After the interval, United looked sluggish as the coaching staff attempted to use their subs to maximum effect. Unfortunately, Nanaimo were a fitter squad and really started running at the United defence.

Despite this pressure, United carved out a solid chance or two but Joe "The Body" Ventura was unable to finish past the Nanaimo keeper after getting himself in some excellent positions.

Nanaimo continued to pressure and it paid off with a well hit shot in the 56th.  All of sudden Nanaimo were on the board, without ever really being a threat to United.

Nanaimo continued to rally against the flagging United and got a fortunate second goal after some intense pressure in the United half.

It was clear that United had to tighten up and make some decisions.  Benny "Tickle Me Elmo" Stanchfield and Ryan "How Much Time is Left Sir" Braun were immense at the back.  They reassigned checks and allowed United to change formation - which effectively relieved the Nanaimo pressure on the backline.

In the end, United might have had another goal or two but got across the line with the three points.  It was clear that fitness needs work but the signs are there that they could have another marquee season.

Man of the Match - Chris Woodcock
Honourable mentioned to Ryan Braun who had a steady performance in the back.
Holle-Nash Tribute to America Award - Joe Ventura - could have had a hat trick.
Moan of the Match - Not having unlimited subs.

Top Ten - Nash's Next Car: Number 7!

As promised, we're rolling out yet another vehicle choice for our good friend and United teammate - Nash.

To summarize, we've heard that Lakehill United and all around funny guy, Brian Nash, is in the market for a new car.  We thought it would be fun to help him decide what to purchase right here on LakehillUnited.Blogspot over the next few weeks.

So far, we've featured the Austin Healey Sprite Mk.1, the Griswold Family Wagon, and an assortment of vans in our quest to find the ultimate vehicle for Nash.  Today we bring you...

Nash's Next Car #7 - A Scooter

We here at LakehillUnited.Blogspot know how much Nash loves motorbikes.  But he also likes saving money on gas and looking out for the environment.  That's why we believe a scooter would be a great choice!

The scooter - a fine choice - even for passengers

Whether you are rolling down Dallas Road or cruising down the Pat Bay Highway - you always look good on a hog!  Plus it lets the ladies know you have a practical side.  If it came down to our choice for something motorized between our legs - this is it!

Stay tuned for more of the Nash's next car feature along with the first of our player series interviews next week.

Top Ten - Nash's Next Car: Number 8!

After a bit of a delay in posting we are back and getting rapidly up-to-speed for the season ahead!

As a continuation of one of our popular features, we'd like to continue the series Top Ten - Nash's Next Car!

To summarize, we've heard that Lakehill United and all around funny guy, Brian Nash, is in the market for a new car.  We thought it would be fun to help him decide what to purchase right here on LakehillUnited.Blogspot over the next few weeks.

So far, we've featured cars 9 and 10 in our quest to find the ultimate vehicle for Nash.  Today we bring you...

Nash's Next Car #8 - A Van

We admit, we haven't been updating in the last couple weeks, so in order to reward you, our faithful readers, we're giving you not 1, but 3 options for vehicle #8.

While not surprising that a van would make the list, we thought we'd explore the wide variety of possible van choices available for Nash.  After careful review, we have decided on the following 3 options:

The Creepy Perv Van

Why wouldn't you check this out?

Nash doesn't do mini vans, nor does he need windows.  So what better way to get around town then in a full size Econo Van with an inspirational sign on the side?  Watch out for long hugs and hard candies kids!

The Crazy Japanese Anime Hyper Super Van

We'd love to see Nash's mug airbrushed on the back of one of these.

The Japanese do it right!  Check out these awesome pictures of the Japanese Custom Vans.  Can you imagine Nash rolling down Douglas in a Hello Kitty Van dressed up like the Batmobile?  What  more can you say but "HELL YES!!!!!!!!!"

Check out the body kit

The 70's Fantasy Van

Uhhh...A Unicorn farting Rainbows?????!!!!  Heart Window Makes it.

Fantasy Vans are awesome, Nash is awesome - this is recipe for success!!!  The big man likes his art and again he can roll in a full size with plenty of room for the family!

We love this choice but we think any of the above would work for Nash!

Stay tuned for the next car in our series and keep checking back because we promise, #1 is HOT.
